In the last meeting I was looking for a text editor for Linux which could
do the "column-mode" editing same way as UltraEdit does.
I tried the plugin for Gedit, but I did not manage to get it working right
away, so no go with that.
Additionally I found out that the software company making UltraEdit (IDM
Software Solutions, Inc) is working on UE for Linux. Should be due towards
the end of the year. Yippee!!!
Meanwhile, since I had the latest(ish) version of Xover office (v6.0) ,
and latest version of Ultraedit (v14), I decided to try how well that
works. Seems to be working very well. Ultra edit runs on linux just fine
via Xover office.
(My current desktop distro is Mandriva 2008.1 RC2)
