I am trying to connect to a printer which is shared in winodws XP. I have it set up so a username and passowrd is needed to use the printer...I can get the printer to work while in Windows XP on MY computer however, in redhat... ok..I went to the print manager...went to new..and I'm seting up for the printer....when I get to queue type, I selected Networked Windows (SMB) and the computer name in which I want to connect is there....however, when I click it, no printers are found and I cannot continure...so I go to specify. I am VERY new at linux...so I'm not sure if I have all this right...under workgroup..I put the workgroup name of the computer that has the printer...under server, I put the LAN IP address of that computer, under share, I tried once with the computer name of the computer and I tried once with the name of the printer. I wasn't sure which one goes there...I put in the Username and Password and hit OK...the computer with the printer showed that it recieved data and showed that it sent data,
then the authentication(box I get after I click specify) blinks and comes back, and doesn't allow me to continue. any suggestions..and more information needed...thank you in advance
