Is anyone aware if any of these services are Linux compatible?

Hi Chuck.

Pretty good. Coverage is pretty much the same as a digital cell phone. In
other words, there are spots which aren't so good. Being inside makes it
worse, of course.

I've only had the new service a day, so I can't comment on speed. The older
144K service used to give me about 60-90K during peak hours and about
100-120K otherwise. There is a lot of latency (about 150-250ms) in the
first hop (new and old).

The new service was running 600-750K when we set it up about 5pm. It was
showing a better signal than my cell phone. Indeed Dave told me that the
data cards generally worked a bit better than the phones.

I use it mainly as a backup / emergency sort of link. In other words, not
all that often (though I might start using it more now!). So I'm not the
best one to comment on general performance. I do find that Verizon's speed
estimates are pretty reasonable. They tell you to only expect about half
the max speed. That sort of matches what I see during peak hours.

How is that Verizon wireless service? Does it cover pretty much the whole
New Orleans area? Are there certain spots where you get no connectivity? Are
the speeds generally pretty good? Seems like something I might get.
