I've experienced the exact same problem with two of my clients. At both
locations they did remote line tests and never saw a problem. At one of the
locations I insisted on them sending out a technician three times but no
technician ever showed. At the other location I insisted they send out a
technician two times but no technician ever showed then either.

Everytime they reminded me that if it's not a Cox problem that they would
bill me for the rollout. Each time I said "Sure, bill us" but still no help.

Subject: [Nolug] Cox Problem?

Hi all.

I have 4 people calling me saying that they are having problems getting to
my mail server sometimes. They are all Cox customers.

I did a bit of troubleshooting with them. I show packet loss about 2 hops
from the user end. The users see the same loss when they traceroute out.

Two of these Cox users reported the problem. Cox blew them both away.

Then I looked around a bit and ran across these:

It seems that the problem is real and that Cox is ignoring it. My purpose
in posting here is to ask other Cox users if they are seeing this same
problem.

Thanks,

John
