I just ordered DSL from Bellsouth and I haven't even received my modem yet. Today I was watching G4Tv and I saw a commercial for Verizon online DSL for 14.95/mth. It even has a download speed of like 780k. My Bellsouth DSL is 24.95/mth for 250k down and 128 up. Would it be possible to purchase this rather that Bellsouth?

No one in the southeastern US can offer that due to Bellsouth. It's
called "naked" DSL, or "unbundling" voice from data, and Bellsouth refuses
to do it. You should write to Jay Blossman, your public service
commissioner, and demand that Bellsouth offer DSL without a landline.
I've done this twice, and haven't even gotten a response from the LPSC
(www.lpsc.org for contact info).
Of course it'll never happen now with Bellsouth whining about how many
billions it's costing to rebuild their network. They dont want to share
their lines with *anyone*, with or without a landline.
