Hi Simon.
If you are dead set against a POTS line, then I'd suggest that you check out a
cable connection. Be aware that most home cable doesn't provide a static IP
or allow hosting servers.
If you are in Cox territory there is a little know "Home Office" offering.
For and extra $30 a month over the normal home rate you can get this business
service. It includes a static IP and no port blocking. It's easier to get
support from the business group, also.

I used to have webdsi before Katrina. I imagine they're back up and running
now. Pretty good price for static I.P.

When I get back to New Orleans, I'm hoping to get DSL without a land line.
Last time I talked to webdsi, they said Bellsouth wasn't set up to do that
yet. Anyone know if anyone in NOLA can do DSL without a landline? Otherwise
I may end up with cable.
