Hey all,
I have a bit of a legal question I guess. I have been playing a lot with
Slax Linux. It is VERY customizable. One of the things I've been doing is
working on a live cd of sorts for USALUG.org. Basically I'm taking Slax
adding a lot of stuff to it and taking some other stuff off. Then I'm going
to install it, change all the config files, and turn it back into a Live CD.
Right now it is being hosted graciously by the creator of USALUG.org on the
site. I'm trying to include DVD playback support, and know that I cannot
legally include libdvdcss. So now to my question. I am writing a bash script
that will download and install the libdvdcss module from Slax's FTP server
to the live filesystem. Can I legally include this script as part of the
.iso since it is being hosted in the US? Have any of you guys an information
on this. I know that libdvdcss could be in violation of the DMCA, and since
it hasn't been contested really here in the US that I'm aware of, I don't
really know if I should include the script.
Thanks in advance.
