Just a lil rant for anyone who is interested where I see computing and
Linux going. ;)
<rant>
Myself I have to admit I dislike both Intel and PowerPC hardware. I think
eventually we'll have mini-cheap computing cores including a CPU and RAM
and a highspeed data path and they'll be able to snap together pretty much
like legos. I think IBM's work on massively parallel computing for the
average user will go this way along with some of the opensource hardware
projects. Grid/Mesh computing will eventually rule the roost. To build a
full PC you'd add a module that is essentially a tiny fileserver including
hardrive, ram, cpu, and datapath and maybe audio/video modules, networking
modules, etc and just plug the monitor, mouse, keyboard, and ethernet in
pretty much like normal.
